Pedestrians gawk but appear to do nothing. One driver stops briefly but then pulls back into traffic. A man on a scooter slowly circles the victim before zipping away. The chilling scene — captured on video by a streetlight surveillance camera — has touched off a round of soul-searching in Hartford, with the capital city's biggest newspaper blaring "SO INHUMANE" on the front page and the police chief lamenting: "We no longer have a moral compass." Yesterday in the morning while walking out of the subway in the staircase, a girl behind me fell down on the stars and I hit either her head or her wrist when she fell down. The hit was a quality one, because I was rushing to the meeting. I havent heard hell falling down because I was listening to my MP3 player on max sound but I definatly felt the quality kick and turned around for a second to see what happened. I havent bothered to help her get back up or ask if she is okay, because someone else's problems are not my business. I felt awkward during this incident.
