I think the whole thing falls into a gray area. Sammura had to be banned just because she was spamming up the board with nonsense. I think that Sportswami has a good heart but his posts seemed to cause alot of hatred to be spewed at him. Maybe his insights caused us all to take a deeper look at ourselves and we didn't like what we saw. Ok, maybe not. I think later this week we will be posting a poll with several candidates for un-banning. Malice

The threads the Swami initiated, as opposed to posts where he replied to flames, were generally focused on the whores, or the business, etc – on topic I think. He may have posted too many top-ten lists, but they were top-ten lists related to porn. I might ask him to space out new threads so there were no more than three new threads a day or so, but these aren’t a problem in my view.
The problem with Swami is that he facts are so wrong as to make you wonder if he is about to lead a WMD search in Iraq. All fanboys make dumb mistakes – we know nothing about the industry by watching videos – but most of us realize that or will learn after being whacked a few times. Swami would make amazing mistakes, get corrected, and another dumb mistake without breaking stride. He seems immune to learning from his mistakes, indeed doesn’t seem to realize he is supposed to learn from his mistakes.
The real problem is that his standing had deteriorated to the point that almost every post he made got several flame replies (I’m guilty here too) and he would understandably reply in kind. Every post he made, even if reasonable for XXXPT, would result in a trail of worthless sniping.
My inclination is to not ban him. I’d ask him to try to harder to check & cite sources – he needs to learn this anyway – and have mods try to nudge him when needed and douse flames (or at least not make it worse). A ban ought to be the last option, when he’s been read the rules & can’t comply.
Sammura went on a crack binge or something one evening. Before that she was mainly responding to potshots from others here. I wouldn’t ban someone for replying in kind. If she promises to unplug her computer before inhaling in the future I’d unban her. If members are allowed to bash talent every chance should be given to talent to bash back.
A better example of a problem is Monsieur. Does this guy do anything other than stalk Brandon Iron or Steve Holmes and throw insults? At what point does it cross the line in making this a hostile place for talent? People ought to be able to state that they think Steve is old, and tweaking Brenda is always fun, but not to the point of making a monotone Gregorian chant out of it; I’d like for Steve to be able to post just once without the same old crap. At least new insults, maybe related to his posts.

We don't need a top ten list. Swami was nailed for one reason: he was as annoying as fuck. I'm not a mod of course, so I don't know if that's REALLY the reason, but fuck democracy, I say.
The lesson of Swami, in regard to other posters, is this: don't be annoying as fuck. I wasn't here for Sammura or Outsider (I read the board as a guest about once a month or so and remember both but not the actual banning), but if the rationale boiled down to --
1. They were annoying as fuck, and
2. See #1 --
that's cool with me, even if I'm next on the block.
Since I'm down in double-digits in posts, that's my Swami-sized opinion. The guy was argumentative and stupid, which is a grotesque combination.
Looking for this thread in a Gene Ross "news" article soon...

My whole thing is I don't like to see anyone banned as this is one of the few forums that is a last bastion of free speech but some people Sammura who just flip out with mean and nasty PM's and almost spam like posts are to much, as are threats to harm another poster or pornstars ( and i don't mean the jokey knife fight references). Thanks for having that poll later in the week Tony because at least these people can have a second chance on here no matter how cracked up and stupid they may be.

JRV is very good at putting into words what I am thinking! You are exactly right, this was the problem with Swami.
He would post a top ten list, or comment which was usually deserving of being bashed in some way - because it was usually incorrect, over generalized, misinformed, what have you. Unfortunately, this would cause an avalanche of retorts. What you end up with is a giant thread of useless information bashing on the swami, with very little information-exchange.
Now, part of this is shame-on-us, because we all responded. Swami was the catalyst, but we are all part of the chain-reaction that led to his ban.
I might add this too is why I banned Outsider. The same kind of thing would happen.
If you notice, there are no posted rules here on XXX PT. That is not an accident or mistake. I really don't want there to be "rules". Save that crap for ADT.
Because, for instance, like every other message board on earth we could have a rule "don't flame people." But, as we know, on this board, flaming tends to make things interesting. It prompts people to defend their positions, and I feel it brings interesting character and discussion to the board. So, in the end when you call Brandon Iron gay or Steve Holmes old, I think it adds alot when those guys come on and defend themselves (even if it is just to promote their new movies).
What we do have is a loose fabric of acceptible behavior. Sammura had obviously crossed a line, people like the Smelly Monkey, Outsider, and now the Swami have perhaps made clear where other lines are.
Okay, enough rambling,

In defense of "moi". You are right the only time I post is when Holmes or Brandon come on with some nonsense. As you might expect I am totally against banning. (I don't even know who Swami is). The answer obviously is not to read the posts of the people who annoy you. You forgot to mention that I also comment on Everhard. So my three to make it clear are:Holmes, Irons and Everhard.
My main complaint with porn is that we have the same OLD guys in the films. (before anyone says it--I do avoid them) On that other board this subject comes up on a regular basis, and I'm doing a service by alerting the fans that it is the same old guys and in some cases with the same old dialogue (oh, god, shit, yes).
And if I were absolutely honest (something rare in this field) I would say that it annoys the hell out of me to have these three foreigners (hey I'm a Chauvinist--sue me) taking the place of some new native talent. It would be one thing if they were spectacular but...
So I guess if I get banned I will survive, but I will not be able to render my service. Hey I've been banned before. My posts get many to read them though.
I am devastated that The Weasel does not let me bother him. This is my only reason for being, and as Vince says :" maybe he'll get some self-esteem".

Just though I would get on this board and clear the air since I have been banned (without having the balls to tell me I have been banned.) So I thought I would respond to all charges.
1) Sending creepy PM's. First off I sent a PM to Rob Longshot asking him and any talent he had to be guests on my show. The guy gave me a lame ass response as he is too hung over from the hours of 12-8 on Snudays to reply, PM me some more about the show. I responsed twice more (once explaing about the show and a second asking his response) After that I gave up (don't have time for losers and wannabe talent.) since I can get guests elsewhere instead of waiting for some half ass Michael Stefano wannabe to get some initiative. As far as Jeff Steward goes, well I am not impressed with him at all as he acts like a 13 year throwing a hissy fit about my claims. I never claimed to be a insider...I stated my opinions and observations. As far as Jeff goes though he is God and I am a nobody (though last time I checked... JM Prodcutions is not at the level of Vivid, Adam and Eve, Wicked or even Metro for that example. Also... I NEVER ASKE FOR HIM TO BE ON THE SHOW! I never heard of JM until I got on this board. I extended my apoliges to him trying to be the bigger man and this scumbag insults me even more. Besides anybody who gets off shooting young females that look 16 getting violated and then not having the balls to take critcism... well Jeff Steward is just a flaming turd and no reason for him to get pissed off over opinions. Unless he is some Neo-Nazi prick.
2) Annoying: Hate to break everyones bubbles but most of the people in this board get their rocks off jerking off about pornstars and how they want to know their real name or want them to stick a 12 inch dildo up their ass. I gave my opions and lists, and then got tired of having people take pot shots at me and responded in return.
3) Stalker: Considering I work two jobs, am barely paying the bills... I think it is safe to say that I can't be a stalker. Btw... I am not one of the idiots asking about the gals real names.. (and half of this board is obessed with fucking either Kami, Gen Padova, Corina or Ashley Blue.)
4) Immaturity. I am not going to respond to this because 85 percent of this board regulars responded with either stupid lines, cursing people out, or gave stupid gay insults.
5) Top Ten lists: Maybe they are annoying, maybe they are stale... BUT OTHER IDIOTS WERE DOING THEM. I don't watch porn, don't care to watch alot of porn, and I only know these women either but seeing them in person, listening to them in KSEX or having them on my show. I don't know every adult starlet and my taste was different so alot of people here got pissed. Too bad ... get a life!
Bottom line is that I was honest, gave my two cents worth and didn't back down from any of you queers, losers and degnerate dirtbags that called me out. To the few boarders who were cool to me, and you know who you are, I enjoyed reading your stuff. To the adult starlets on this borad (Claire James, Trinity James, Kami, Corina Taylor, and Gen Padova) I wish you ladies loads of success and great wealth in the future.
And to the rest of you... I don't care what you guys think of me, because I don't care what a bunch of losers, lowlifes, and scumbags think of me. I will say this... at least Smelly Monkey had the balls to stop PMing me and was upfront about everything instead of kissing my ass in person and then slamming me when I was gone.

You don't get an email when you have been banned, you can log into your account, just when it comes time to post a message instead of saying your message has been posted you will be taken back to such and such, it has the music from the final countdown play and then a message saying you have been banned loser, eat it raw. Thats it.
Also a lot of the reasons people wanted swami gone are the same reasons some people like me, weird.

There's a feature for banning (and unbanning) users--by username, ip There's a feature so that you can change the name of the forum, for instance, if I wanted toI could change this forum's name to "A World Outside Swami". There's other shit for opening and closing threads, which we never use. And then there's just general stats, like how many people have logged on in the past 24 hours, 1 week 30 days, etc.
All I do is move threads. I think the mods at ADT can see who's online; if someone is doing a search, they can see what that person is searchig for, etc. Those are the super powers I crave.
