The Academy is all about letting old "forgotten" nominated and winning actors go to the awards, by the way, which is why they take a living award-winners picture every year or two. This is how real talents (and multiple Oscar winners) like Rod Steiger would get invites year after year, even after they grew older, more bloated, even more bald and more forgotten by the uninformed youth of America. It says a lot about soundstage whores of Garner's ilk that they don't even know who their predecessors, and usually superiors, are. (And especially one like her who thinks she knows so much that she has to foist her political opinions on us.) I would not count a relatively intelligent actor like Hillary Swank in that nitwitted group.
