OK to have a crush from afar on a dude who is crazier than a shithouse rat, but getting involved in this dude's wreckage of a life in the real world would be more painful to putting a bullet in your head. On one level, I feel sorry for the dork, as he has fucked up his life, but he ought to try honest employment as a therapy.
