We didn't ration it then, but I remember lines stretching for blocks to get gas. It would take forever for us to pull out of our driveway, since we were around the corner from a gas station.




I remember it had something to do with whether your license plate ended with an odd or even number. They must have had some formula for plates ending with letters, too.
