The last fight scene is epic cheesefest between Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier with biting, scratching and rolling around on the floor. Gregory Peck is the worse evil Nazi ever. The flim starts out with probably the finest performance Steve Guttenberg has ever done in his career which isn't saying much.

Peck is wonderfully terrible in Boys From Brazil.

Bridesmaids. SUCKED! Tried way too hard to be "guy talk" from females and all the gags fell flat.

Unknown. With Liam Neeson as he whores his way through what is probably some multi film deal. Average. The director of photography's name actually is Flavio Martínez Labiano.

Anyone else excited for this Prometheus shit? It's the first movie I've been stoked about since I gave up on cinema after The Phantom Menace. Alien is probably in my top three of all time, so I've a right to be excited, dammit.

Ridley Scott's on a bankable level. He, like anyone else in his league, will never do anything radical or provocative ever again. The "what works" formula's too common and to actually get something interesting done with a solid budget and bankable names attached is nearly impossible. Not so much excitement here, basic interest.

Minotaur, wild beast of Crete One of the better sword and sandal movies I've seen.

Peter Bogdonavich's epic rockumentary (strange phrase to use but this clocks in at a couple of minutes under four hours--not the movie to watch if you are planning on doing anything else at all with the rest of your evening) of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Along with The Last Waltz, the best rock and roll documentary I've ever seen. The sound is awesome, Petty tells it like it was with a wicked sense of humor. A lot of seldom seen footage of pre-Heartbreaker bands (The Epics, Mudcrutch, etc.) and their first couple of years together before they busted out with Damn the Torpedoes. Film was made in 2006 and I'm sure it features some of the last interviews ever with George Harrison and Howie Epstein. A must see if you are a Tom Petty fan.

Vampire Circus , not a bad Hammer horror film and Invisible Invaders, pretty shitty actually.

Reincarnation of Isabel- not finished it yet but lots of titties and graphic violence.

I don't get the low budget horror thing. Bad acting, bad writing and bad technical realization. Tits can't save everything.

The original Girl with the dragon tattoo. I haven't seen the new one but plan to. I doubt it can beat this. This was 4 out of 5 for me !
There are three films in this trilogy.
The tattoo one, The girl who played with fire and The girl who kicked the hornets nest. I plan on seeing the other two soon.

Saw The Devil Inside. Always have high hopes for these kinds of movies. Very disappointing. Lots of loose ends in the plot and the ending comes across like the budget ran out and they just made the most of what they had.

I'm afraid Chronicle is going to be that way. Horror is dicey at best.

Every review I've read has said that it is the worst film out in a long time. Glad to see that's been independently verified. Not surprising though, it's not like they haven't already done the whole exorcism mockumentary thing already....and "The Last Exorcism" wasn't exactly a gem. I don't even know why Hollywood bothers addressing the whole exorcism subject anymore. The gold standard came out about 40 years ago.....you'll never top "The Exorcist," so why even bother?



Anyway, I digress.....the last film I saw on DVD was "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," (it was okay) & the last one I saw in the theater was "The Help." "The Help" might be a "chick flick" but I don't care, it's actually REALLY good......and I REALLY enjoyed it from start to finish, which is something I can't say about most films I see these days.

I've watched a bunch of b horror since my last post. Raw Meat [snoozefest], The Maze [schlocky 50's sci-fi/horror, etc.....but the movie that really stands out is a sleazy '62 "Satan in High Heels". One of the best movies in the Something Weird Collection. Starring a ridiculously hour glass shaped Meg Myles who later had an extensive career in TV soaps. Great big tits and ass but no nudity. She's so evil none was needed. Absolutely gripping by the balls. One of the sleaziest movies I've ever seen w/o nudity.
