"Content trade" is a bartering concept where everyone works, contributing their talent and/or equipment (depending on whether they are talent or crew) to produce content. Everyone gets either exclusive or shared content (or a mix of both depending on the agreement) for their personal use and profit.
The idea is to get footage with little or no out of pocket cost for anyone.
This can work very well among professionals but can easily go sour when working with amateurs or suitcase pimps.
In a 12 hour day, several people can usually get content worth well more then what they would have normally received in wages on a budgeted production.
Example: I make between $600 and $1200 a day as DP on budgeted productions. If I can get a b/g scene and a solo as my exclusive content then I'm well ahead of what I would have had to pay in talent/agency fees for a budgeted booking.

Ignorance implies a lack of knowledge which is easily correctable through education.
Stupidity implies an inability to learn.
Therefore; ignorance is temporary, stupidity is forever!
