Max is not the cause, just an enabler. I can only attest to what I have been told by the PW's of his that I've talked to (and we all know that whores lie) but I have no reason to not believe the pieces I've been told over the years. The storied are just too similar.

He finds damaged whores and provides them with a place to live, a car to drive, and whatever "candy" they need to feel good about themselves. He will get them enhancement surgery and ride them hard about their weight.

But Max is not the proverbial good Samaritan, he charges the girls a price for his largess. They pay him back out of their salaries for any cash outlay that he makes on their behalf and they must perform both in his movies and in private for the benefits they receive.

This is why he pimps them out. If they don't earn, he doesn't get paid back.
