I won't spend more than a hundred bucks on a watch because all I want from them is the time of day. I trash watches like Brandon tosses back valtrex. If whatever watch I'm wearing is in too bad a shape for a wedding or other formal event I'll just go without. Without wearing walmart clothes, I will go as cheaply as I can get by with when it comes to clothing (though I wouldn't even appear in a porno movie without cuffs in my suit pants). I will drop money on things more important to me like tools or electronics or real property and to some extent food. I will spend bucks on things that bring pleasure and/or utility to myself, but will not spend money to impress others.

I think some people who spend megabucks on clothes and watches probably feel the same way but would be content to fish with a Zebco rod & reel and rent an apartment.
