The other 20% of the populace, well-read, and open-minded will observe their votes be drowned out by the hoi polloi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoi_polloi) and become even more cynical.
Personally, I'm voting Democrat based upon the performance of out country from 2001-2006 which featured Republican domination of all three branches of government. These lazy rich assholes fucked up at every opportunity (9/11, Iraq occupation, Katrina, cronysim, Justice Department, free speech zones, increasing the national debt from $5 trillion to $9 trillion, etc.)
McCain, as facile as he is with the press, thinks the Bush "tax cuts" were a good idea and that our overly-extended military will somehow prevent terrorism by physically being "over there" as opposed to being home and seeing to our domestic security.
Obama foresees a removal of our occupation forces from the Middle East because their presence serves as a catalyst for the “terrorists” who see the cause of their hopeless living situation as America (“Great Satan”) and Israel (“Little Satan”). Perhaps, removing 100,000 American troops from their lands could be perceived as offering them self-governance. Of course, this is a very simplistic way of seeing things, but in the Middle East, all they have is their own equivalent of Fox News (even less "fair and balanced"), and their equivalent of Fox News has Blackwater mercenaries killing people around the clock.

America needs to press the “RESET” button and vote out the knuckle-dragging Republicans!

I don't care if people dislike fox news or don't watch it, but complaining about it when it's the only alternative to liberal garbage like cnn, msnbc, nbc, cbs, etc. is pretty ridiculous. when ONE alternative viewpoint, whether you agree with it or not, puckers your ass as much as fox does to gunker and elab, it's pretty funny.

I don't listen to radio much at all. My local paper is free actually, paid by advertisers, and I read every issue.
No need to get your cradle to the grave panties in a bunch because I disagree with your expectations for every hardworking, successful person in our country to pay for the health care of every fat fuck, pot/cig smoking, cancerous, alcoholic, drug addicted, unmotivated piece of garbage because they can't save money, keep a job or pay for their own health care, idiot. not to mention, adding whatever other social entitlement you can dream up to reward no talent do nothings that accept zero responsibility for their actions in life like spitting out multiple babies by multiple daddies looking for a handout that only comes by raising my taxes. move to france and enjoy your islamic caliphate.

I want to read the posts after Obama wins from Gunker  So long as he doesn't fall back on the tried and true strategy of blaming the previous regime. All of these recent candidates blow. It seems unless cloning of the Roosevelts with a lil truman thrown in is allowed then we are all screwed. Be consistent Gunker - point out Obama's flaws once in office too. And yes I have said that Bush stinks.

Personally, I think NOT having to spend half a BILLION dollars a MONTH, every month, on a war NOT supported by the majority of Americans would go a long way towards reducing our national debt and easing societal ills.

News should answer the following questions: Who, what, when, where, why, and how and nothing else.
Anything more is opinion, editorial, or analysis and that IS NOT news.
Unfortunately the Forth Estate has had it's taste of power in shaping politics and public opinion and is here to stay.
The only way to counter this landslide of biased reporting is to review a number of different sources (the key to this is 'different') on the same subject and come to your own conclusion, not just except the spoon-fed version of your favorite talking head.
Yes, it takes work to not be a sheep.
