But then again, so did Skeeter:

Skeeter wanted to know if the Grand Vizier who first broke the story, took note that Max is thinner than he’s ever been in his life.

“His face is more gaunt and his cheeks are more sucked in,” observes Skeeter.

“Obviously this bitch Jenna has him tweaked out of his fucking mine. He’s using more speed and coke than he ever did [allegedly] with Layla or Catalina. There’s a story about how Max fucked up Catalina’s mind so much, brainwashed her so much, she was in the mental hospital for over a year. Max had her committed.”

Skeeter can’t believe that Jenna also wanted to charge him for the drugs that were flushed down the toilet.

“She said that in front of Jerry Van Nuys. Max tried to say that the reason the police came was because I didn’t have a permit. And that’s my fault. These cops didn’t care about permits. They said there were underage girls in the house.”

EDIT: Gene's updated the story:

Quote:

At 5:30 Max called Skeeter checking up on things.

“I didn’t tell him his girl was a worthless piece of shit,” says Skeeter.

“He tells me I heard you say I sold you out. I said you did. You told the girl to leave the house even though my attorney told me to have no one leave. I heard you on the phone selling me out and fucking me up. He was very upset that I said that. He’s saying it’s my fault that the police were there. Now what he said after that was weird. He said you realize that you’re breaking the law. You are committing a crime."

“You’re filming without a permit. And he’s calling me by my name on the phone. This is freaking me out. Then he starts saying oh she might have been high, she might have been using drugs but you said it was okay for her to. What in the fuck are you talking about?

"I told him, hey Max, you selling people out for the FBI? I know you’re scared. You told me with tears in your eyes that you can go away for the rest of your life. That you got cash put away and if it looks like it’s bad, I’m running. That’s what he told me. Max told me if it looks bad I am gone. I’ve got the money.”

“I’m wondering is Max setting up people?” Skeeter says. Why were there ten patrol cars and a helicopter at my house? Why was this so cinched up? Max thought the girl was already gone. He was freaked out that she was still there when the cops came. So I found that interesting. Max is an informant- he has to be.

“When he came to collect the check later he kept talking about drugs every other word. Right in front of witnesses. I couldn’t believe what he was saying because almost everything was a lie and an exaggeration. Then I heard a noise, and I’m not lying. I saw a walkie talkie on his side under his shirt. And Jerry Van Nuys saw it.

"Talking was going on. And then he said if you don’t admit this or don’t admit that we’ll never talk again. I looked at him and said then we’ll never talk again. And that appalled him. But he had a fucking walkie talkie. Is this guaranteed not to serve prison time? This was ten o’clock at night.”

“And he had a gun in the middle of his back and a small knife to the left. None of that bothered me because if he was going to pull that on me I’d just take it away from him and throw him on his back. If you ain’t got the balls to put it in my mouth it’s the same as being a toy gun.”
