I love what they have for weed:

The Drug Awareness Warning Network Annual Report, published by the US federal government contains a statistical compilation of all drug deaths which occur in the United States. According to this report, there has never been a death recorded from the use of marijuana by natural causes. Unlike opiates, barbiturates or amphetamines, there seems to be little risk from the use of large amounts of marijuana. When a person smokes too much they feel very tired and lie down. When people swallow large amounts of hashish, occasionally they get sick to their stomach.

Marijuana's effect on the user depends on the strength or potency of the THC it contains. THC potency has increased since the 1970s but has been about the same since the mid-1980s. The strength of the drug is measured by the average amount of THC in test samples confiscated by law enforcement agencies. THC is the chemical in marijuana which makes you feel "high" (which means experiencing a change in mood and seeing or feeling things differently). Certain parts of the plant contain higher levels of THC. The flowers or buds have more THC than the stems or leaves.

Well if them wacky potheads could just ban together and get some good lobbyists up on Capitol Hill....fuck I am sure that Philip Morris (AKA, Altria) would have them on the store shelves in every Wal-Mart in no time at all.....maybe even in Menthol. However this will NEVER happen because of the prison industrial complex and naturally the fact that keeping it illegal just adds to the general mystique of weed in general.

The one which cannot be easily grown and harvested by individuals and thus can be more easily controlled and taxed.

True, but I know about a dozen people who make their own beer, some make wine too. I'm holding on to the hope that it'll be legal in my lifetime. If not, no biggie, it never stopped me before.

Hell you can make your own beer man....http://www.mrbeer.com

I don’t think you need to get a ATF permit for it.....its not like you’re trying to compete with Anheuser Bush. Shit prisoners in correctional facilities make homemade wine in the toilet....I don’t think they get written up for it.....but for them another charge is just that another charge.

I have no idea if this information is still correct in the US. (Probably is, otherwise it wouldn't have been published.)
But I do know that the THC levels in weed/marihuana over here (Western Europe) have at least doubled in the last decade. It's still no hard drug in the sense of OD-ing from one single hit, but there are more and more cases of severe psychotic reactions to the use of small quantities. Furthermore, the probability of addiction is higher as THC levels rise, due to the intoxicative effect on brain and body.

In short, it's no longer a harmless pastime, people.

Not for beer or for wine. But if you want your own still, you need a shitload of paperwork and you need to be doing it commercially.

But if it was not for bootlegging (moon shiners) during prohibition that were trying to evade and generally outrun the evil g-men....they would have never created what now is yet another national sporting event......NASCAR! Well it’s a sporting event for hillbillies and rednecks….but still a sporting event notwithstanding. Shit, if it’s on regular ESPN your golden.

To quote Wikipedia…..NASCAR has grown to become the second-most popular professional sport in terms of television ratings inside the U.S., ranking behind only the National Football League.

BTW...before they "outlawed" it in the NASCAR bylaws they used to give away "free samples" of tobacco products, tobacco and alcohol paraphernalia (lighters, flasks, etc) and MOST sponsors were related to tobacco and alcohol. go figure!

Hey, they tried to bring NASCAR to NYC, on the site of what was formerly the world's largest garbage dump, before a certain drink-driving congressman killed the plan because (and get this) he was afraid that it would encourage drunk driving.
