I was cleaning some stuff out over the weekend, when I came across a few cassettes from a KUPD radio show in Phoenix called the "Surf 'n' Thrash Special" hosted by JonathanL. The tapes in question was from Summer 1989. I played the tape, there were some great old surf and hardcore songs I'd forgotten:

Davey Allen & the Arrows - "Surf Medley"
The Jesus & Mary Chain - "Kill Surf City"
Channel 3 - "Double Standard Boys"
Screaming Blue Messiahas - "Bikini Red"

KMFDM on a 'Surf and Trash' special? Kinda odd, but interesting nonetheless. Screaming Blue Messiahs ring a bell as well, but I don't remember seeing them live.

i have a shitload of old mix tapes that were given by pals and exgirlfriends and i am too lazy to convert them and don't want them to disintergrate...goddamn cassettes.
