i tend to let mr. hardcore (and, by extension, myself) off the hook as it relates to content. the films are situated in a fantasy world, with its own rules and conventions that are way far over-the-top and exaggerated, and cannot be mistaken for any kind of reality. i personally find pornos that try to convince you that they are "real" much more troubling, pretending that their content and ideologies represent real reality. they are far more sinister with their casual misogyny and implied violence. that frat-boy high-five "whores lie" philosophy garbage that is so prevalent. i would argue that all that stuff is pretty much the same- all steering by the star of the snuff film -just not as up-front or articulate about it as mr. hardcore. though i think you could probably make a very convincing argument that the overall tenor of mainstream porno in the usa has been very influenced and shaped by mr. hardcore's work. i certainly couldn't mount an effective counter-argument, since i'm not some kind of damn porn scholar. i just like to jerk off to chicks getting their throats fucked wild style.

i do wish mr. hardcore could get some girls that looked like grown-ups, though. grown-ups with big titties.
