Many Chinese joints around here offer steamed alternatives, often with brown rice instead of white. While the veggies themselves are crisper, more plentiful and a bit more flavorful, the overall effect is kinda bland. I still say that the best Chinese food in NYC is Wo Hop on Mott Street around 3:00 AM after a night of drinking.

I’ve found actual Chinese food to be bland in certain areas of China. Shanghai and Beijing were all pretty tasteless. In Chengdu the food was super spicy but low quality ingredients, mostly the meat. In Xian, which is surrounded by farm land, the food was excellent in quality and taste. But one of the best Chinese restaurants that I’ve eaten in was a little hole in the wall in Tokyo.

In my neighborhood, you can only get that awful yellow ghetto rice. Very depressing, and the food is as bad as the rice so it doesn't matter anyway. 24-hour Wo Hop is one of the great real joints on Mott St., especially when  .

When I worked down on Howard & Crosby I used to like to frequent this "Roach Coach" on Elizabeth street just off Canal in Chinatown. There would be a long line of people and it was only like $3 for a plate of noodles and 3 pieces of fried chicken.

All my roles were the silent ones so scoring a "D" without any effort and getting 3-credits was a good deal for me. It didnt do good for GPA, but that's another story.
Russian and English is all I know.

They usually want quite a bit of money just to take a pic. Even a fully clothed one. If they think that's what turns you on, it could cost you as much as sex with one of them. That's IF their pimps allow such things.

There are different ways and approaches to sell on eBay. From simple 4x6 to stuff like painting-size 24x36-inch prints. Theres a guy on eBay that pays like $80-$140 to American crack whores so he can shoogt them with his 6x7 Pentax 67 and than makes black and white 11x14 prints that usually start at $50.00ea and highest that I seen he got for 11x14 was $380+. A lot of photo collectors buy on eBay.

Sounds like these buyers are photography collectors rather than porn consumers. If you can shoot stuff that appeals to them on eBay, I say go for it. But be careful in TJ. Why not fly to Czechoslovakia or Ukraine where you'd have half a leg up?

Chinese food is overpriced. Real Chinese food is good, but different than what you'd expect if you grew up on egg foo yung and chicken balls.
The chinese I worked with were racist cocksuckers. But at least they were open about it, so I had to respect that.

BC hit the nail on the head. If you are caught taking pictures of locals in EL Norte (north TJ where the brothels are) by the locals, you will get beat bloody if not dead.
If you are caught taking pictures of the locals by the policia, it will cost you every dime you have to keep out of jail.
The girls, most likely, will not let you take their pictures because they don't want family to know what they do.
I cannot stress enough HOW BAD an idea this is. Have you not been reading the news about TJ lately? Open drug wars on the streets, gun running, kidnappings, executions of police officers.... Pres. Calderon just sent several thousand Mexican troops to help keep peace in the city.
Right now, Law Enforcement in TJ WILL NOT FUCK AROUND. They will throw your pasty white American ass in jail and keep you there until they decide they have time to deal with you months down the road. By then, you'll have been ass-fucked so many times even Hillary Scott will say "Daaammmnn!"
Stick with Craigslist for cheap whores to practice your photography skills with. An amateur going out of the country with immoral intent and no clue as to the local laws and society is a Darwin Award waiting to happen.
