24" Fire TV to use in my shop, $99.

Put the thing on an articulated arm wall mount, so i can point it toward whatever machine i am working at, and i love it. Not locked into the apps that come with it, i downloaded a bunch (HBO, Showtime, ComedyCentral, etc) and logged into them via my cable provider. Mostly what i watch though is movies on Amazon Prime and poscasts on YouTube.

$150 Blower Motor and Capacitor for my furnace. Couldn't get any supply house to give me a price, much less sell to me. Amazon would have been about $140 w/ tax, but stuff wouldn't have arrived until Jan 7, at the earliest. Had someone a friend knows w/ HVAC biddness order it, and it should be here Monday. So much hassle for a fix that would have been 1/2 hr or less, start to finish.

House got down to 54 the other night. Couple small space heaters (glorified blow dryers) and the oven cracked got it up to 70. Borrowed an electric radiator, w/ that and one of the space heaters, have it about 72 in kitchen, dining room, living room area. My kids room is at 68, which he is fine with.

OTA TV antennas for cutting my cable TV off. Got some coax cable from the TV install van guy in my neighborhood and wired up my crib for free over the air TV.
Getting all the networks and the retro channels on the antenna, using borrowed passwords for HBO/SHO and Netflix.

I picked the Mohu Curve 30 for my place based on a bit of research and a call to Mohu. You have to go to TVFool and enter your addy. See the distance to the tower from your place and if it's 30 miles, 50 miles, or 65 miles away. Mine was under 30, so a passive device worked fine. I got 113 channels on the first scan, mostly foreign language and pbs. All I stored on my TV was the networks and the retro stations, maybe 24 channels at the most. My NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX look better with the antenna than on the cable system I had.
Antenna position is in a window and pointing in the direction of the tower. Be sure you get an antenna with a detachable cable so you can custom cut your cable. You don't want any coils of coax causing interference.(say that three times fast)
I also have a firestick which I have not really used too much. I either watch OTA or stream from my phone or laptop to the TV with chromecast USB thingy.

Have you watched NFL football via OTA antennae yet? I hear it is amazing.

I'll have to try something like that. Right now I have a basic flat antenna hanging next to a window. Some channels come in great, but it's a crap shoot. Channels come and go depending on time of day. Weirdly, all the jesusfreak channels come in crystal-clear.

Put it in the window, on a part that has no metal screen for the best results.
