i think of him as an animal who i have taken on the responsibility of caring for. and i suppose i probably do think of him as my child to an extent. it's like, he has to spend more than half of his life in a cage, so i want it to be a nice cage and i want him to have plenty of toys to entertain him while he's in there. it's fucked up he has to be locked in a cage in the first place, nahimean?

those two companies did not make stainless steel cages. but i see what you are getting at. it just is weird to me that someone would spend the money to get an expensive bird like a macaw, cockatoo, amazon, etc., and then want to cheap out on the cage. all you have to do is look into it a very, very little bit to see that you are better off in the long run spending the extra money for a quality cage. then again, that's the problem. many, many people do absolutely no research before they buy a high maintenance bird, stick them inside a shitty little cage with no toys, then are shocked when the bird is unpleasant, loud, or self-mutilates. a lot of people seem to think of a parrot as a decoration or conversation piece or something, as opposed to a real pet that needs time, attention and consideration. but, anyway, in searching for this cage i talked to half a dozen vendors and they all told me that they wished these two companies were still operating, because they could easily sell the cages and they get complaints from people all the time that they can't find a good cage for their birds.
