Vyvyan hamster has to take 1mg of baytril every day till Saturday. Baytril doesn't come in any dose close to that.
The actual prescription I have is for 2 15mg baytril tabs (in case I screw this up). The vet explained that I should smash up one of the pills and divide it into 15 equal parts. So here I am everyday cutting up a very very small line for my hamster, and mixing it in with water in a 1ml syringe and force feeding it to the little one.
$90.00 isn't even so bad when you realize how few vets are willing to work with "small exotic animals".

Yeah but Baytril is the best antibiotic out there, Doxycillian is what the shelter gives and it sucks, takes double the time as opposed to the Baytril, so it was worth it, and that wasn't so bad w/a visit. I know that since it's a hamster you would think it's so small it would be cheaper. Vets have become ridiculous these days because they know how popular it has become to be a dog owner now and they're milking it for all they can. Especially w/the people in my neighborhood, they think the more expensive something is the better it is, like all the Italian food around here that you can make at home in big batches for the prices they charge. They fucked everything up when they moved in around here. Everything has tripled.
