I just googled the Viking fridge and they seem to sell at $5,200-$5,400, for this price I can buy (if I have enough room) 10 $440 fridges with tax already calculated-in, and get 206 cubic feet of storage space. It is true that the Viking is better built than the consumer brands that you can find in Sears, but this does not mean that that Sears units are crappy, poorly-assembled or will break soon.
I can definatly see some pro chef using the Viking appliances, but for a regular consumer this is too overboard. A lot of people can't cook really good, so even if they get a Viking appliance their cooking won't improve and the food will be just as shitty as it used to be. Most of the Americans (as well as the rest of the people) are fucking dumb when it comes to buying things, and fail to distinguish that 'need' and 'want' are 2 different things.
For once I completely agree with Panzer. Why pay that kind of money just to be an appliance elitist? It's a fuckin' fridge...if it's big enough to hold your food and keep it cold then it's doing its job.
Gia, no offense intended, but you must get paid very well for your pics considering all the expensive shit you're always talking about buying. You must have invested wisely.
