I haven't driven the MGB regularly in over 5 yrs... maybe 7. With a family a two-seater has limited use. But it is bad to the bone and features incredible handling. Not very fast (though I have it running as fast as it can, stock) but it's quick. I guess a better word for it is nimble. It goes where you point it. Question is always will the wire wheels hold up.

I've become intimate with the Jag. Indeed I have it in about 100 pieces right now. I love it. It is so unnecessarily complicated, electrically, that it's been more rewarding to work on than a soduku puzzle. And it always runs... like a scalded dog.

Jags are fascinating. I always wondered how they could put an inline engine into a car, and then throw on so much extra shit that the entire engine compartment seemed full. Some of the mid 80s cars with the v12 engines were just over the top. You could pick up a handful of small sockets, nuts, bolts and screws, throw them on top of the engine, and not a single one would fall through to the floor. Those jags make my early 32 valve 928 look simplistic.

Today I got the electric trunk lock working again but failed to fix the fuel filler lock and the keyless entry system I put in gave up the ghost for no discernible reason. It worked fine for about a week. It was cheap so I guess I got what I payed for. They're really weird, quirky cars with relays stashed everywhere when a fused red and black wire would do just fine.

Ok, I have my plan of action. 2Tb at Staples is $99.99 in today's sale flyer, no 20% off coupon. When I thought about buying it, it was $89.99. Today Best Buy has it for $89.99, but Best Buy is a half hour away, compared to Staples. So a lil rooting on Staples site and they do price matching, so all I have to do is pick up the newspaper on my way to the store, instead of my way home. WIN.

Decided against the 3TB, spent the $40 difference on the RAM last night. By the time I fill this thing up, it will probably be 5TB for $100.

On a side note, it would probably be cheaper, easier and quicker to just re join some of the sites I have on CD and DVD than transfer them to a hard drive. Plus, the video quality on that shit doesn't really hold up. Only a few early FA scenes and some first/only timers from a couple websites are worth sitting through.

My latest purchase was car insurance. The company I've been with for the last 11 years dropped me, because they changed their criteria to determine if you are insurable. They now take into account any and all tickets you get, seat belt, inspection, etc.

Some online quotes and I settled on AAA. I've had their Roadside Assistance for 11 years also, and the rate was about the same. When I get there, they say they can't put me with AAA, because of a fender bender 2 years ago, but they write for Progressive, so I'm there. Jacked my rates $400 every 6 months, to $1067, just liability. Since I don't have health ins. I have to buy it through the car ins to cover any injuries I get in an accident. That was included in my last place.

Anyway, next Sept. I'll be able to get ins through AAA and since I'll have been using the Roadside for 12 years at that point, I'll get a 9% break. I think at 20 years with the roadside, you get a 20 or 25% break. You also get a 10% break if you have Home owners through them.

From what the agent at my last place told me, they have been hemorrhaging money since the economic downturn. If someone gets in a fender bender, they put in a claim, because they don't have the cash to fix it. If someone has been in an accident, they sue no matter what to try and get some free $$. Also, the place does a ton of Home Owner Ins, and with all the natural disasters they are getting fucked.

Oh well. Over the last 11 years I got the place 3 or 4 customers through positive word of mouth. Lets see how many I can cost them over the next 10.
