Bringing wkout gear is totally uneccessary for vacation of 1 week or less unless you are super yoked and ADDICTED to wrking out like Christian XXX, which really, only 1% of the population is. As far as needing space for new stuff en route back, I wouldn't have bothered. Real travelers buy a cheap $5 suitcase at Salvation Army on their trip to take the new purchases home. Save space and money like a pro.



If I think I'm going to be shopping, I sctually carry an Amelia Earhart soft duffle bag that can fit in the overhead to use just in case.

It weighs very little and fits flat right in the front zipper pouch of my favorite bag.
