Well, as I recall (this goes back a few years) the Russian girls (like many of their asian counterparts) initially signed up for what they thought was a year of quick cash, fully intending to return home thereafter. Once they got here, the reality was quite different. As I understand it, they were crammed into these tiny flats in Brighton Beach (again, much like their chinese counterparts) by the Japonchick's boys and had their lives very tightly controlled; being ferried en masse to various outer borough strip clubs, often working seven days a week. Once they began to wear out, they were relegated to being hookers until they paid off their "debt" for their transportation here. The 'one year tour" often ended up being much longer.

Again, this is what I recall from a few years ago (say the mid 1990s-early 200s.) And it's mostly anecdotal, although I did witness the mass ferrying of chicks and the tight control their "drivers" had over them, often yelling at them in Russian to make with the lap dances and garner some green. Whether or not this still takes place, I couldn't tell you. At the end of the day, those places are a waste of money unless you've got a Bachelor party or are entertaining a client or something. Or know the owner.
