I think testing is good but it doesn't pick up everything. You've got to rely on talent producing valid tests and directors being professional and making sure their talent have valid tests and not going ahead with the shoot if they don't
Then so much can happen during the month in between testing with talent escorting, going overseas etcetera

I think I've heard that Belladonna reduces risk on her productions by only using talent who have been tested a day or so beforehand...
