I've met plenty of heroin addicts who seemed to be cockroach like in their ability to survive the abuse of their long term addictions providing they maintained clean habits if they were shooters and avoided infections from needles.

I've never known a crackhead who didn't continually deteriorate. She might live longer than people expect but she won't ever be a Keith Richards type.
