Even though I left the GOP a few years ago, I am quite comfortable with McCain. He and I have similar personalities. Despite the short fuse and acerbic comments, there is always a mental mechanism that keeps people like us from going off the deep end when there are real consequences. Rationality will always win out. Compare that to W, who like most recovering addicts, cannot see anything but black and white, and is completely incapable of critical thinking, grasping nuances or appreciating subtleties. McCain says what he means and means what he says, while having no patience for fools. Compare that to the pandering, compulsive liar and the empty suit who speaks in nothing but vacuous platitudes. The choice for me is becoming easier with each passing day.
