But a new book on the presumptive Republican nominee will air perhaps the most shocking angry exchange to date. The Real McCain by Cliff Schecter, which will arrive in bookstores next month, reports an angry exchange between McCain and his wife that happened in full view of aides and reporters during a 1992 campaign stop. An advance copy of the book was obtained by RAW STORY. Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, "You're getting a little thin up there." McCain's face reddened, and he responded, "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt." McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days."

Even though I left the GOP a few years ago, I am quite comfortable with McCain. He and I have similar personalities. Despite the short fuse and acerbic comments, there is always a mental mechanism that keeps people like us from going off the deep end when there are real consequences. Rationality will always win out. Compare that to W, who like most recovering addicts, cannot see anything but black and white, and is completely incapable of critical thinking, grasping nuances or appreciating subtleties. McCain says what he means and means what he says, while having no patience for fools. Compare that to the pandering, compulsive liar and the empty suit who speaks in nothing but vacuous platitudes. The choice for me is becoming easier with each passing day.

first, I am neither a "Repuglican" or a "Denyocrat", I am as Independent as My Druidic religion Allows me to be, but I dont Trust Al Gore and his Green agenda either...second, I believe the world system is basically fucked beyond repair and a HUGE revolution/change is coming that will alter the landscape and civilization in general as we know it...The Zionist World Conspiracy for domination is coming to a head.
That being said, McCain Scares the absolute SHIT out of me, for many of the reasons already mentioned: He is capable of being an arrogant hot headed asshole, and frankly, givent he fact that the President of the USA is still the most powerful position in the world with command of the greatest military power in history (even though it is all chewed up and full of Iraqi Desert Sand right now), I dont want someone as unstable and vitriolic as McCain in charge...he is too connected to the Military, PLUS, I still cant believe a person spends 5 years in a Hanoi Hilton Shithole back during the Vietnam War and comes out of it without any serious Damage. McCain is as Damaged as Any porn whore swallowing multiple loads on screen....Who knows what McCain had shove dup his ass during his Vietnam nightmare....just as a Porn Whore with serious issues will attempt to escape them by appearing before a camera with several creep dicks to allow her to feel "sexy and worthwhile", I believe McCain will try to expunge the trauma from his psyche by imagining Nuclear Missles to be giant pistoning Peni' and he will plaster the face of a country like North Korea with radioactive splooge. And then all hell will break loose...

I supported McCain in 2000 and donated to his campaign.
I'm not voting for him.
I'm angry that he embraced America's own Taliban, the Christian Right after a noble stance against them in 2000. I'm disappointed in him since I believe he relented to W on the issue of sanctioned torture. I HATE Rudy Guiliani - He really fucking scares me - and he'll be part of a McCain government.

I wouldn't make too much of McCain's insincere overtures to the fundies and evangelicals. The GOP has a long history of treating those people the same way the Dems treated the blacks. Pay lip service to their causes, make promises to them you never intend to keep, let them have some say in a couple of nominations for inconsequential positions, but never let them have any real influence or power. In short, Christians were the GOP's niggers. Unfortunately, that idiot W. Bush went to far and actually let some of those fuckers in the door and gave them some real power. You need only look at the Justice Dept. to see it. McCain is, I believe, essentially agnostic and will say only what he needs to to lock down their votes, then kick them back to the curb where they belong.

This is true, although I think they were more fond of Huckabee, Mormonism not being considered "true" Christianity in many quarters.
I'm not too worried about that, though. Besides breaking ties in the Senate, the VP only gets to do what the Prez says he gets to do, and somehow I don't see McCain delegating much authority to anybody who's not 100% behind him.

Bush/Cheney "tax cuts" have led to a (currently) 9 Trillion Debt (I think it was only 4 or 5 Trillion when he took over).
I think the Bush/Cheney "tax cuts" (I keep on using that quotes, it's more of a patronizing "tax deferment") should be undone, and see if the $$$ balances again, just like in Clinton's term. For your average middle class worker, the tax rates of Carter-Reagan-Bush-Clinton-Bush are trivial; for your average CEO, the Republicans have been EXTREMELY beneficial, always reducing the corporate share of keeping America strong, and always reducing the share of the ultra-rich, hoping that "trickle-down" economics works towards employing yachts-craftsmen and the skilled makers of Rolex watches...
Also, cut off the corporate dodge of headquartering in the Cayman Islands, or in Halliburton's case, Dubai.
The projected cost of the Iraq oppucation (and thus, creating a Phloigiston-like "laboratory" of anti-American hatred) has been detrimental, economically-destructive, and diplomatically-diminishing...
"Staying the Course" should not be an valid option given the extraordinary cost of soldier's lives and American $$$ to try to make this five-year Iraqi occupation somehow magically make sense...

There is a difference between the federal budget deficit and the national debt. The federal budget deficit is just one small component of the national debt. The Bush tax cuts (deferments) did not create or exacerbate either. Tell me if federal revenues now are higher or lower than they were when Bush took office in January 2001.
