The Vizier is livid that Stagliano’s created a legal war chest and is soliciting funds for it. In fact Stagliano has launched a website called Defendourprogram.org which allows adult industry members and fans to donate to Stagliano's defense via PayPal.

States the Vizier, “AVN’s Mark Kernes- and you got to love this- says Stagliano has taken ‘a bold step’ to encourage support of himself and his company in the face of a federal obscenity prosecution.”

The bold step comments are what might have set The Vizier Off.

“This is exactly the same thing Pinky Stolbach was doing,” points out The Vizier, taking note of an article I wrote over the past weekend about Stolbach and the Free Speech Legal Defense Fund.

“Stagliano’s getting his own club like Pinky.”

The Vizier’s also of the opinion that Stagliano, rather than exhort money from the little people, should be liquidating his lavish Malibu digs if his legal bills are that tight. The Vizier’s mad that Stagliano’s reaching out like this in a particularly crass manner.

“Where were you when we couldn’t get your ass on a telephone?” asks the Vizier on behalf of some disgruntled porn distributors that have long standing issues with Stagliano and are now taking exception to his whiny tactics.

“Stagliano would never give people a break on price,” states The Vizier.

“Evil Angel made no deals for anyone. Stagliano ground you into submission with his pricing system. You wouldn’t lower the price? Now sell your home. Out of ego, he produced that Fashionistas show in Vegas which lost money. Now everyone else is being asked to kick in? Oh, can we help you? It’s the height of supreme arrogance. Absolute insanity.”

“I’m sure that Cinderella still owes money on that case you talked about in the Pinky article,” continues The Vizier.

“Nobody raised money for Charlie Brickman. Where were people to raise money when Jack Stephen’s wife was used to testify against him in Florida?”

On the subject of wives, The Vizier points out, ironically at that, how Karen Stagliano/Trisha Devereaux almost married Rob Black. So, either way, Devereaux would have been facing federal indictment as the loyal spouse.

Black, like Stagliano, agitated the Feds. Only Black got directly in John Ashcroft’s face on a PBS show urging the Feds to come get him. Whereas Stagliano, used a rendition of Fashionistas on stage at the AVN show to make prickly commentary about the government. The AVN show was aired on Showtime which gave the G-men a front row seat.

“How about all the hundreds of thousands Stagliano put in AVN’s pocket?" The Vizier also asks.

“Why doesn’t AVN kick back some of that loot? And why is AVN shilling and pimping this? Here’s a thought, John. Don’t advertise for a year and use that money towards your legal bills. That’ll put a hundred grand in your coffers.”

The Grand Vizier also tactlessly reminds one and all that when the obscenity case involving Movies By Mail and Sami Harb first came up, it was Stagliano who told Harb, “There’s Nothing We Can Do For You”

“The big boys are hiding,” Harb said at the time. One of those big boys was Stagliano.

“I hear Josef is buying titles,” continues The Vizier. “Tell Stagliano to sell off his line. Josef will put some real value on that Stagliano product at 65 cents a disc. But he’ll hold the price instead of selling it for 55 cents.”
