since the Bible refers to Satan as an "Evil Angel"

That's kind of part of it. Something named after Satan. God's adversary. I think he finds it taunting.

It's not something I can fully grasp.

HaSatan ["The Satan"] isn't very big in Judaism, and there isn't much of a concensus on what HaSatan does or is - or even much discussion about it.

He makes only brief appearances in the Jewish texts. He's got a much meater role in Christianity and Islam.

I tend to the belief that HaSatan translates to "the troublemaking companion" or "the accuser". In this later role, he would accuse you of your sins before God on Judgment Day. As "the accuser", he may be seen as an enemy of mankind. He tries to stir up trouble and/or "entrap" into sinning - like with Job and with David. But, he is not God's enemy. HaSatan serves God. He is God's instrument.

Nobody/Nothing can stand up to God who rules unchallenged in Heaven and on Earth.
