Is it a federal court in DC or a court in Virginia? There's a court that encompasses the VA burbs of DC which is pretty conservative. The government likes to set cases there (especially national security cases) because the judge is pretty conservative and there are lots of ex-military people to draw from for juries. Sort or like a simi valley, but for a federal court.

It's the US District Court for the District of Columbia. Although the court you're thinking of, Eastern District of Virginia, is also in the 4th Circuit along with D.C. The 4th is a pretty conservative Appellate Circuit; it might be that DOJ wanted a circuit that would avoid an ugly (and potentially unfavorable) showdown in the Supreme Court over the Lawrence issue, so they went there to keep it from ever reaching the Supremes. But even then, if they can't get a jury to agree that the titles in question violate community standards in the District, what fucking good is it?

They both sound like the 5th circuit ct of appeals in New Orleans, which covers TX. If you are up for murder, mayhem, obscenity, inter alia, you may want to have appeals heard elsewhere (not that you can choose).

I'd like to read the indictment to see whose community standards "Fetish Fanatic 5" violated. Can't be DC. I used to work near 14th and Mass Avenue, Near Thomas Circle - full of working girls and even "adult book stores."
