Sorry, Loop. I sometimes forget not everyone is from the NY Area.
As noted above, Eastern Long Island. My high school class was about 800 and there were under a dozen blacks. There may have been as few as five. I knew none of them. I had only 1 black friend, and he was a year older.
The area I'm from on the north shore, called the Three Villages, still has few blacks, but there's certainly more diversity - mostly Asians [Koreans, India/Pakistan].
Though with the expansion of building further east, some likely might not see this as Eastern LI anymore.
