They may not have to beat the Angels. This year Boston & the Yankees seem to have it tougher in the east. Toronto owns the BoSox and Baltimore and TB are much better. This may keep down their records where before they padded it with a bunch of weak sister wins. So one would win get the wild card if they missed the division.

The wild card may be a viable route.
