The only reason this story is sensational is because the overly PC media just doesn't want to admit that despite "his" desire to look like and be called a man, she's still a woman underneath.

So lets see. She's born a woman. Women can get pregnant. End of story! Nothing to see here.

True but sexuality and gender are two different things. The guy was born female, but has lived as a man for years, including getting a masectomy and taking male hormones. Thus, it's a man. I just wish the media would see M to F (male to female) transitions the same way. The only reason why the media is being so understanding is to get this sensationalized story exposed.

I find it odd that she felt like a man, desired to be a man, "woke up feeling like a man," but when push came to shove she/he decided to keep the female internal plumbing instead of getting some renovation work down there, mainly because she felt at some point she would want to have kids...

So, keeping sex/identity-gender separate, she was fully prepared to change gender (female to male) but not so willing to change sex ? Or the other way around? What male out there wants to sport a working cervix, fallopian tubes, etc? And I guess that since she was fertile, she was having regular periods. Explain that to the boys at the bar...
"Say Johnny, got one of those tampax things women use? Yeah, those, I think you have them there next to the Jameson and Bushmills. I'll be back in a few. Get me a Pale Ale in the meantime, will ya?"
