We tried to nurse a hawk someone shot, but it died.

I found an owner for a ferret someone let loose in a Union City park.

I used to be a union rep and Central Labor Council delegate and fought for the rights of working people and their families. I used to be involved in social justice issues thru my synagogue and helped out the homeless and families needing food or fuel for heat.

Lately? Since "9/11", I've mostly lost whatever hope I had left in the entire human race. I see helping humans as a complete waste of time, money and effort.

Still ... I marched against the Iraq war before we went in ... though it didn't have much effect. I tend not to care much about it now. Those who are sending their kids and those who are doing the fighting seem to want to be there. Plus, like AIDS, I don't know or have any relation to any of the dead ... so if they don't care, why should I?

I don't believe in donating money to anything unless I am sure what it's being spent on. I worked for the NYS AG. I KNOW none of the money gets to the cause. It tends to stick to the pockets of the people running the charity.

That said, I give $$$ to channel 13 and the occasional political campaign.

No Problem, see you have done things so be proud of what you did. And I do donate and do know where its going, but I feel the same way if I dont know or am "iffy" about where its going to go I wont do it either.
But I do it to rescue organizations and they need it desperately. 90% of the human race suck and should be dead.
Dont support the ASPCA they suck, their shelter area is very very small, they will only accept cutsie dogs that they know for a fact will get adopted and their shelter area was renovated for millions, its like a fancy fucking hotel. Animals don't need that, they need love, food, water, to be walked at least 2x a day and they dont get all of those needs met there. Dont get me started again on Peta.

P.S. One thing you said I did NOT LIKE AT ALL, how can you say you like Aids, I've lost many family members to it and many close friends, I dont take that word or that disease lightly.
