I just learned that female hyena's don't have a vagina, they have pseudopenis which looks like a larger male penis, and pseudoscrotum. The pseudopenis is in fact an elongated clitoris and the pseudoscrotum consists of fatty tissue. The pseudopenis is erectile and is used in the special hyaena ‘Greeting Ceremony’ where hyaenas engage in much sniffing of the genital area in order to identify each other by scent.

Astonishingly, females mate and give birth through the long, narrow canal running down the center of this "pseudopenis." During mating it retracts much like a shirt sleeve being pushed up, and during birth it stretches so much that it looks like a water balloon. "From a human perspective, the process can be thought of as giving birth through an unusually large penis."
