Not sure if you know or not, but the cable network Showtime is broadcasting the AVN Awards starting this Friday at midnight (EST). This is the first time the network is airing the awards, and it's totally fitting since this was the 25th anniversary of the night where the top adult stars all come out and celebrate their year.
I was out at the show this year and have to say it was an amazing experience. Comedian Greg Fitzsimmons hosted the show with the gorgeous superstar Tera Patrick. He's always been funny on "The Howard Stern Show" and she's always great period!
There was also some great stuff happening on the stage. The acceptance speeches are always fun to listen to, and while I won't ruin it for anyone and say who won what, some of the awards were total surprises. One of the things that really made news was when Jenna Jameson got up there to give out an award and totally just let loose and said whatever came to her mind. You have to see this to believe it. There was also great entertainment from the Fashionistas stage show which is a lot like Cirque de Soleil, and the clips from past shows were pretty cool, especially seeing some of our favorite adult stars from years ago.
Be sure to check it out starting this weekend on Showtime. I know I can't wait to see it all again and in high-def.
