Mann Act FYI: travel expenses paid

I have noticed that some girls actually think that the company that they are working for should take on the burden of their travel expenses if they are flying in from out of state. Example- My name is Cindy and I am available for solo, g/g and b/g. Can travel anywhere across the USA if expenses are paid for upfront. This is ILLEGAL…specifically a violation of the Mann Act of 1910. This FEDERAL law makes it illegal to transport individuals across state lines for immoral purposes. I understand that there are companies, photographers and agents (PIMPS) that disregard this law (on both ends in regards to the pimps) and models request for it all the time. Is porn considered immoral for the purposes of this Act? Or is the pornstar considered an "actor" being paid or reimbursed for transportation costs? Wonder if any circuit courts have opined.

I've always wondered the same thing, if it's even been brought to court. Immoral seems to be even more subjective and vague the the dreaded obscenity. Especially when it is basically legal in LA. We fly girls in all the time up here, the smaller talent pool pretty much demands it.

I haven't seen the Mann Act used recently in regards to porn production, but I do believe the Feds used it recently and successfully in regards to a national prostitution ring and against a pimp in Georgia who transported girls to NY basically against their will. And of course because of Spitzer, the Mann Act is back in the news. I question whether they would use in regards to porn production however, if you are going to fly girls and pay expenses talk to a lawyer about it. Michael www.AdultBizLaw.com

The Mann Act is why, I guess, porn stars doing privates seek a "donation" or "gift" and no other compensation which might be construed as payment for services rendered, esp. for girls flying to NYC or elsewhere from LA. A porn star may be off the hook in terms of the Mann Act when she travels to a porn shoot, but she might still run astray of local regs regarding shooting porn within certain county or city premises, right? I think if the Salt Lake City cops busted a "Mormon Bukakke" or "LDS Anal Orgy" production being shot 100 feet from their temple there might be some jail time involved for Nevada and CA based sluts.

Based upon what Pornlaw has posted previously, I recall that porn shooting is only "legal" in California. So, it could be prosecuted as prostitution anywhere else ... though some jurisdictions might be wary of prosecuting such a case since if it was lost on appeal, it could create another "legal" area like California.

Speaking of that....Correct me if I am wrong but whatever happened to the State of Florida Vs. Clinton McCowen (AKA. Ray Guhn). Does anyone have any current knowledge involving this case?
