I'm not sure I follow. Didn't people VOTE for him, even though he's blind? Should disabled people be barred from holding public office?

BTW, the mayor of Vancouver is a fucking quadraplegic!

He's been in a chair since he broke his neck skiing at age 19. Before the Olympic ceremony when he had to wave the flag he asked at a press conference if the IOC really wanted "Vancouver's worst skier" to represent the games.
