The real question is: What to do about Ceara? Clearly, a crime has been committed. She freely admits to it. And though we all know that Ceara is not my favorite person in the universe, I would argue for leniency under the circumstances. Let's consider the mitigating circumstances:
(1) She freely admitted to the crime, without (as far as I am aware) any investigation, prompting, threats and/or coercion;
(2) The crime did not consist of an abuse of her official MOD powers. Rather, it was an abuse of the poor suckers she routinely bleeds for money, which has nothing to do with her functions as poster/mod on XPT;
(3) However misguided her actions (Okay, egregious) they were committed on behalf of a friend she perceived to be in trouble and not on behalf of herself.
Accordingly, I would recommend that a punishment of a week in the box (with concurrent temporary demodding) would be sufficient under the circumstances. That's about as long as Chico has been exiled, so it seems fair to me.

She didn't break any rules. One user one vote. All she did was campaign for one person v another. She didn't sign in under alt-ids and vote.
Certainly, there is no "crime". I question if even a rule was broken. If a "crime" occurred it was committed by Smelly Monkey in starting the poll, and we all have to agree that wasn't a bad thing.
When you play by Lord of the Flies rules you can't be surprised.
Besides, Chico isn't exiled- he could have posted at any time.

Only in terms of its construction: If he wanted to do a poll like that right, he should have included options for "Both," and "Neither." That would have produced an accurate (well, more acurate) survey of what the board as a whole thought about the matter.
My question is: How many of those C.L recruited actually have accounts here. The big flaw with polls is that, unlike rating threads and posters, anons can vote in polls. The votes are tracked by IP address, not by account name/number. So, if you recruit a shitload of non-XPT folks to vote in a poll about demodding longtime XPTers, it kinda puts a taint on the results, no?
For that matter, anybody with a list of proxies and an hour to kill can rig a poll any way he pleases, undetected. No "army of alts" needed.
Maybe it's not a crime, but it sure smells funny from here.

I see no crime. Even if she's telling the truth, and I think she's just weaving a tale, all she did was lobby users. That's how an open forum works.  So ben and his friends voted against Chico since their "whip" told them to ... that's the American way.  As previously stated elsewhere: I liked Monstar. He added to the forum and was the prime poster to the forum he moderated. Chico was worthless. Other than MMA references, he rarely added a thread - and never to his own forum. And, his posts were pathetic. I don't see Chico wronged by anyone but God. Proof: Chico's far uglier.

What you either don't realize or don't want to say is regardless of the poll outcome, rigged or not, there's no reason either had to be de-modded.

I talked to Chico on Wedensday. He couldn't have cared less, actually. I sent him word about today's events, but haven't heard back from him yet.
I don't see anybody deserving banning (or beating) for anything here, but that's just me. I always become a lot more reasonable after dinner.
