I would put Favre over Starr

How? Why?

By Championships? Starr kills Favre. By big drives?

Starr engineered one of the best drives in history against the Cowboys to win the NFL Championship [the "Ice Bowl" game]. It's my first great memory in football. [btw, At the time the Super Bowl was a joke that didn't matter. This was THE championship that mattered].

Some guys rate their QBs like girls rate guys. Flashy, exciting, daring and dangerous isn't what it's about.

Big drive needed at the end of the game? And you to tend a flashy, exciting QB? I'd recommend Staubach and Elway over Favre. No question.

Give me a big interception Starr threw to lose a playoff game? Oh, that's right! There isn't one!

I judge opposing QBs on whom I fear to play. I NEVER feared Favre. A few years back the Jets needed to beat the 12-3 Packers to make the playoffs and the Packers needed to beat the Jets to stay out of the first round. I was SURE that the Jets had a GREAT chance to win ... since Favre has a tendancy to meltdown - especially if he's down early. He forces things. And, he did. And, he did the next week, too, when the Packers lost their HOME playoff game to Michael Vick's Falcons. So he lost a Lambeau home playoff game to a DOME TEAM!!

This year my Giants were playing the Packers in Lambeau in the cold. I wasn't afraid of Favre. In fact I thought it was MORE LIKELY Favre would throw a big pick than dominate the game. Seems that came to pass as well ...

Favre is a supurb QB. How else could he play all those games without missing one? He gave his all every game. He's just not in the "first class" of QBs. And, I HATE ESPN's worship of him as such.

I'm taking Unitas, Montana, Bradshaw, Brady, Starr, Aikman ... you get the idea ...
