before I had tivo and the delay wasn't unbearable, I ALWAYS turned of the tv sound and listened to my local radio guys for the NFL games. But, the radio play happens a few seconds before the play ... so I don't anymore. There is NO ONE on TV worth hearing. And, I find the radio guys more prepared for the game and they focus on the game at hand and don't drift to nonsense as often.

I still do it for baseball. I have the game on the radio and tv with the sound muted while I'm on my PC. When something happens I can turn to see it on the TV. With the delay, I don't miss anything.



Yeah, I know a ton of people who used to do this for Steelers games. Personally, I'd rather listen to the TV coverage, but Cope had a huge following of people who'd rather hear his take on the game, then some guy who bad mouths the team the entire time.
