The official name is rim light/lighting...although I know what they're called (and you didn't! ), I doubt I know 1% of what you know about applying them effectively.

Oh, and by the way...



...apart from the pose being a little too explicit and the total lack of bush, this shot really reminds me of the sort of stuff Playboy was doing 15-20 years ago, i.e. before they started to lose the plot. Good stuff!
