Taxes.
The Republicans run on even more tax cuts. The same taxes they've been cutting since 1980 when our National Debt was $1 trillion.
Now, in 2008, the National Debt is $9-$10 trillion.
Those aren't tax cuts, dolts, those are tax deferments.
Voting Republican is akin to carrying an ever-increasing balance on your Chinese bank-issued credit card whilst cowering in your basement-bunker awaiting the next Al-Qeada attack (they...are...EVERYWHERE!!!). As evidence of their inherent aptitude towards national threats, the Republicans gave us the Cheney Anti-Terrorist Task Force (did not meet until AFTER 9/11), "My Pet Goat", "Mission Accomplished", and the mercenary/privatization of the U.S. armed forces ("Iraq for Sale"...watch it; then watch "Why We Fight").
Voting Democrat is appointing intelligent, reasonable adults to try to incrementally fix the mess that the Reagen Revolution wrought. And they will fail due to Republican sabotage such as:
"House approves new taxes on big oil
Associated Press - February 27, 2008 6:23 PM ET
CAPITOL HILL (AP) - The House has approved $18 billion in new taxes on the largest oil companies. Democrats backing the legislation, noted record oil prices and rising gasoline costs in a time of economic troubles.
The money collected over 10 years would provide tax breaks for wind, solar and other alternative energy sources and for energy conservation.
It would cost the five largest oil companies an average of $1.8 billion a year. The companies earned $123 billion last year.
Senate Democratic leaders said they would put the bill on a fast track and try to avoid a Republican filibuster.
The White House says the bill is not fair to the oil industry. If it passes, President Bush is expected to veto it.
Republicans say watch out for higher prices at the pump if the higher taxes are imposed."
A $1.8 billion bite on $123 billion of earnings...
Ya, sounds like time for a rare Bush Jr. veto...
