No they don’t.

As for using CO2 according to the American Veterinary Medical Association's Panel on Euthanasia (Journal of the AVMA, Vol. 202, No. 2, Jan. 15, 1993), the most humane way to kill rats (and mice) that will be fed to other animals is with carbon dioxide gas.
If you do a bit of research on it I think you may find the answer you’re looking for.

I am not really sure of your questioning. Do you have issues with the natural food chain or with the idea of me eliminating needless suffering of a prey animal?
