I can get on-board against Petsmart without mixing in the fact that it is PETA's project and their motives aren't pure. I joined with O'Reilly against the Red Cross and their abuses though I hate O'Reilly. I hate Bush, but I stand against Iran with him.
To me, PETA's real "goal" is publicity and notoriety for its leaders. I don't think they give a shit about the animals unless it can grandstand some act which gains the eyes of the media. They remind me of the "Act Up" group who tried to shut down the Port Authority to protest AIDS issues in the 80s.
Personally, I stay away from impersonal large corporate entities in general - my preference for local independent pharmacists, for example. I believe that the day the owner isn't active and present in the business is the end of the business as a beneficial entity to society. The mistreatment of the animals is just a symptom of that to me. That is my prejudice.
And, I will fight for K1ng's right to own tropical fish!
