Advertisers pander to every community, or at least the demographic that will make them money. I hardly expect a frank and unvarnished reflection of society from television advertising. And although Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton can rightly be accused of the same shameless pandering, I don't recall any specific instances when they claimed blacks were "intellectually superior beings". But just to satisfy my curiosity, what exactly are "documented levels of negro intelligence"? And, based on your beliefs and your statements here, would you characterize yourself as a "racist"?
You have distorted my comments about Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and their related organizations. Nowhere in my previous post did I state that they claim the negro to be an intellectually superior being. I wrote that advertisers are so afraid of the possible backlash from those people if they show a negro in an inferior light, they overcompensate by consistently portraying the negro as an intellectually superior being -- and a much hipper and cooler being also.
Am I a racist? No, I don't think so. I am, however, fed up with African-American culture. While many shallow and unintelligent whites assume that African-American culture is indicative of the culture of blacks globally, I realize that African-American culture has developed unique pathologies that are generally not found in other black cultures in the world. I also realize that the ills of the African-American community are largely self-inflicted, but possible thanks to wrong-headed white liberal activists and policy-makers who have enabled the African-American community to deteriorate. White men like me did not created the conditions you see portrayed on "The Wire", which are horrible but no worse than large swaths of every urban center in the USofA.
