Porn stars do more than have sex on camera for a living. Many, indeed, have abilities that don’t require getting their genitals shaved. Unfortunately, they never get to share these special talents with the world – that is, until now. The Naughty American has brought together talent to talk about their off-screen talent, to make sure you’re getting … an Adult Education.
This week: Lisa Sparxxx Cuts To The Quick About Cosmetology
Before I got into adult entertainment, I actually ran a hair salon in Los Angeles.
I could color the crap out of hair – not literally, of course.
I was good at it, but, like anything, if you don’t love coloring hair for a living, you’re not going to stay in it for very long. There’s a lot of turnover in the business.
I managed a store in Los Angeles for Regis, which is a popular chain in Los Angeles, and in order to color hair properly, you practically need a chemistry degree. You have to know what kind of chemicals go best with what kind of hair.
Sometimes, people try to color their hair themselves and they would come in with mistakes that were non-fixable.
I managed the place for about six months and I quit because I do not like managing 2-year-olds. That’s what a lot of hairdressers are like: They’re artistic, but have no common sense.
Another reason I quit: In L.A., it’s about who you know, not what you know.
People talk about how their hairstylist is like their psychologist or therapist and that’s the truth! They don’t teach that in cosmetology school, and I’m not sure they could. You either have it or you don’t.
I can talk to a wall, and, if you can do that, you’ll make a lot of money. A lot of times when I’m out with my husband, I’ll get to talking with people and finally my husband has to drag me away.
In fact, when I got my cosmetology license, the school wanted me to come back and teach because I was good with people.....
