Machida VS Sokodju... Honestly I have no idea, but I'm rooting for another devastating KO by Soko.

I'm taking Silva and GSP, too. Don't know the other guys.
I saw a UFC show on Silva's training....intense. It will be tough for Chuck Lidell. GSP just has to forget about the Serra fight and attack Hughes like he did in their 2nd match. Good times.

Hughes says he's going back to his roots but GSP is a better wrestler than Hughes now. Not sure what Matt's thinking.

Chuck will always have that Fist but I really think unless he's expanded his game plan a bit, he's gonna get owned.
(Of course every time I bet against Chuck I lose money. This time, I'm only betting beers.)

Hughes got flat-out owned. I've never seen a more dominant fighter than GSP. The guy's an animal.

Shit I ended up eating my words with Chuck again! Wandy did not execute any semblance of a game plan. The guy did prove he can take a hit though.

GSP proved yet again he is a far better wrestler than Matt. Matt may have gone back to his roots but GSP left an Olympic wrestling tryout for this fight. Hardly a mention of it though. I have seldom seen such ownage.

That hip toss of Hughes was solid. Ouch!

Saw it all, good times. Fucking Hawkeyes did not represent tonight, but all my other picks took the prize. The Lidell v. Silva fight was a bloodbath, great stuff.

I would prefer to see serra- hughes again but will have to wait and see if serra can beat GSP first now.

BTW how is Fedor doing since leaving Pride, I have heard nothing about him at all

Fedor is in M-1 now. Apparently the UFC wouldn't budge on letting him still fight for other promotions in Russia which was the sticking point.
M-1 offered the UFC a joint show for Couture / Fedor but they turned that down too. I really like Dana but I think he's become the next Dana King.

GSP is going to kill Serra if he can "recover" from his "back injury."

The UFC is great but Dana White and the Fertitta's suck when it comes to compensation for fighters. I saw a White interview where he was like "these top fighters are making a respectable seven figure salary..." Seven figures to get your fuckin' brains bashed in when top boxers are raking in $25million+ a fight???

Meanwhile: 60,000 pack the arena at a minimum of $200 a head + record 25 million plus PPV viewers shelling out $25. They need to get a grip before all the best fighters/fan favorites start walking.

xvod, I agree 100% with that. The fighters deserve waaay better than they are getting. Though the fight of the night / ko / sub of the night bonuses are better at least. 40000, used to be 10000 if I' not mistaken. Plus some of the bigger headliners like Chuck get some PPV revenue as well. Like Hendo said to Rampage.. time to make that paper!

I heard something to the effect that Couture left, in part, due to financial reasons. It may or may not be true.

He did resign but he's still under contract so he can't fight for anyone but the UFC till the end of '08 I believe.
It was partly due to people not paying their dues in the company and walking in the door getting paid more and ridiculous bonuses and such. I can't blame him really. Plus what else has he got to accomplish but Fedor?

It was great to see him win back the belt at 44 (not sure if that's the correct age or not). Sad to see it end like this. He went out on top but it would have been nice to see a happy ending for everyone.

I still say they could've reached a compromise. I understand both sides but somethings gotta give otherwise the sport itself loses.

Dana has control issues. If he can't own anyone, he'd rather not sign him. I would love to see Fedor or Barnett in the UFC, but White can't put aside his ego and do what's right for business.

I'm actually training with Barnett over at CSW and Erik Paulson. Babalu comes down once in awhile to teach. Its a good school. I just found a Gracie Barra school in Long Beach.
I'm gonna check it out soon.
