I know nothing of the MMA but can a straight up Boxer make it? This is crazy.

This makes me smile. He will get destroyed. He's a great boxer, but thats only one element of fighting. He has no ground skills and no kicking skills. How is he going to stop a wrestler from slamming him on the mat? Once on the mat, he has to worry about chokes, armbars, leglocks etc.

He will have to train for about 2 solid yrs. on his ground game. He will have to adjust his striking game. In boxing, if there's a clinch; the ref breaks it up. Now he will have to worry about getting kneed in the ribs.

I hope he does make the transition. I want to see BJ Penn choke him out.

The past few months I've been watching every mma match I can find on TV. I've seen enough to know, like Serg said, he will get an ass whoopin like never before. The only way he makes it is if he trains for two years and then fights some chump with the same level of skills/experience. I really hope he does fight, he's a punk and I'd like to see him carried out on a stretcher like Johnnie Morton was in his first and only fight.

Even with Marc Cuban's backing he isn't going to do it, there is still way to much money in boxing. He can sit back a year or so and then have huge money fight with Miguel Cotto and then if Paul Malignaggi become a big star they could end up having the biggest money maker ever in three years.

you fucking morons think hes actually going to fight someone good if at all? hes gonna look into it, potentially give it his all and train and train if he can win the fight hell know well in advance, and then fight some tomato can on tv as the main draw on a good card for hdnet and get a huge amount of publicity, but most likely his hands wont be up to it.... unless there is a paycheck of 14 million plus.

He would do poorly, just like a MMA fighter would do against a good boxer in a boxing match.I bet he does this after he retires from the boxing world just to rake in some extra cash, if he does it at all.

I mentioned that earlier. A MMA fighter will get outboxed by a boxer. They are two different sports. I think he may do it. Mayweather has a huge ego and won't allow MMA getting the spotlight. He doesn't want to be a great boxer, but a great fighter.

Fedor will kill Vick as a warm-up, then take on his dogs.

Even an amateur MMA fighter would destroy him. I'd put my money on a fighter 0-3 in the minors.

i agree, a publicity stunt (a good one, at that) for mark cuban's hdfights. with his boxing, he would at least have a puncher's chance. but, more than likely he'd get handled fairly easily. he, or one of his peoples, most likely knows this. they just want to get peoples talking.

Mayweather would get destroyed, it wouldn't last a minute once it got to the ground, though I'd rather see Cuban get destroyed.
