Unless someone's primary reason for using PUA is "game" or "sport-fucking" (shallow, mean, and pitiful, if you ask me), PUA is at best the equivalent of martial arts training for getting your foot in the door. I've got no quarrel with that. Making the initial connection is a vitally important first step, but in the long run of a relationship it's ultimately a negligible event. Any decent way you can start something going, good on you.

But if you can't let down your guard, relax your technique, and be spontaneously authentic once you've broken the ice, what's the long-term, life-enhancing point of the thing?

Main issue with the mystery method is this: It teaches you how to work a short term game. It does not (nor was it intended to) teach you the long game. It's a for "fun and confidence" way of life. it doesn't lead you to happiness and wasn't designed to do so, it just exists to pass time.
