The scary thing is to think of the miles and miles of older buttresing that could fail next time. All throughout the city there were watermarks at 8, 10, and 12 feet. Houses are still sitting where they floated to after more than 2 years. Insurance settlements do not cover most of the loss and maxed out, I believe, around $150,000.
